Sample, Sip and Satisfy Your Curiosity… 5th annual Grillman Open House, May 3 & 4

If you're itching for warm weather and the start of the outdoor grilling season, then mark the first weekend in May for a visit to Grillman Propane in Easton. Jeff and Amber Tufts will host their fifth annual FREE grilling open house under the tent, and this event will be like no other.

On May 3-4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., representatives from the leading patio grill and accessories companies will be on hand to show off the latest in grilling technology, and the demonstrations will inspire cooking like you've never seen. The event is free, so plan to learn (and taste) the latest in outdoor cooking. And take advantage of Grillman's grill specials that will run throughout the event.

"We're going to do some wacky things this year," said Amber Tufts. Learn to bake cookies on the grill - Otis Spunkmyer cookies are the Tufts' favorite. Or how about baking your favorite cake? Try the Tufts' method for baking yours in the out-of-doors. For those who want their main courses first, start out by learning Jeff Tufts' special techniques for grilling breakfast outside. Bacon and eggs and pancakes are just a few of his specialties. His griddle cooking will inspire a new theme for family breakfasts, as he shows off on the latest from Griddle Q.

Have a heavenly dinner on your mind? Learn how to cook a pork tenderloin roast to perfection with a medley of fresh vegetables. Do you prefer your broiled steaks, chops and burgers without the blackened burn? Or poultry that's thoroughly cooked, yet still moist and delicious? You'll learn how on May 3rd and 4th at Grillman. For seafood lovers, discover the right combinations of sauces, temperatures and timing. Whether its direct or indirect cooking, your talents will increase dramatically.

See the latest in Beafeater Grills from Australia, which Amber Tufts says are "really neat." Check out the beautiful grill models from Vermont Castings, Modern Home Products and Broil Master. They're unlike any others. For those who are into smoking meats, wood and gas smoking demonstrations will show how it's done to perfection. Watch as roasts are cooked on the Tufts' "cafeteria on wheels" - an 11 foot rotisserie that can cook for a small army.

"If you want to get a department store grill and replace it in three years, go ahead," said Amber Tufts. "But if you want a grill that will last until your kids go to college and then some, you want a Grillman grill. We stand behind our grills, and we'll teach you how to use them." Grillman will assemble and deliver your new grill for you.

During the open house, you can look over a wide array of beautiful patio furniture, including bistro tables, bar-height tables, oval patio tables and swivel rockers so comfortable you won't want to leave. Glide in a hardy aluminum jumbo swing - heavy enough so it won't blow away, and it will never rust. And warm up to the beautiful aluminum Chimenea outdoor fire place. This fire place will never crack, like clay ones can. Grillman carries them powered by wood or gas.

Bring in your old style propane tank for an OPD upgrade or trade it in for a new or retrofitted tank. The government requires your tanks to have an Overfilling Protection Device not found on the older styles, which can no longer be filled. The Tufts will dispose of your old one and make sure you go home with a safe tank to kick off your grilling season. Trade-ins get free disposal, but if you have an extra tank to get rid of, just $5 will cover the disposal fee.

Grillman carries special grilling sauces, from Southern Comfort, Jim Beam and Kick Ass brands to Caribbean, teriyaki and Mandarin styles. Not into gas grilling yet? Learn to cook with organic charcoal, which burns hotter longer, and you'll never have that lighter fluid taste in your food again.

Start the outdoor grilling season off right with a visit to Grillman's free open house. And walk away with cooking ideas that will inspire new heights of outdoor cooking in your back yard.
