1st Annual Walk for Women – Fundraiser to Open the Doors of the New Turning Point Women's Center

April 4, 2004--Join men, women, and children of all ages as they participate in the four mile – 1st Annual Walk for Women being held on Saturday, April 24th, 2004. Participants will meet at the Coffee Plantation Patio – SE corner of Baseline and Gilbert Roads. Check in for the Walk, as well as Healthy Women's Festival begins at 8:00 am; the Walk begins sharply at 9:00 am. Walkers will be proceeding south on Gilbert Road from Baseline all the way down to Page; crossing Gilbert Road and then returning north on Gilbert back to Baseline Road and the Coffee Plantation Patio. Parking for this event is available directly across the street in the Fry's Marketplace Shopping Center – near McDonald's. 100% of all funds raised will be used to establish and operate the non-profit organization – New Turning Point Women's Center in Gilbert.

Walkers are asked to obtain sponsors and submit collected pledges on the day of the Walk. The suggested minimum goal for each walker is $150.00. Every walker who raises $150 will receive a T-Shirt. All donations to the New Turning Point Women's Center are tax-deductible. This Walk is certain to be a fun event for the entire family including balloons for everyone; prizes will be awarded immediately following the Walk. Those not able to participate on the day of the event are encouraged to walk in their own neighborhood and mail in their sponsorship.

New Turning Point Women's Center is a non-profit organization that strives to offer comprehensive, practical, and spiritual crisis intervention for females of all ages. They hope to service hundreds of clients per year at their Center, and strive to reach women of all ages in their community with a message of hope. Through fundraising events such as the 1st Annual Walk for Women, they will be able to offer their services FREE!

Services offered by their trained counselors include but are not limited to domestic violence counseling and support, chemical / substance abuse counseling and support, sexual abuse counseling and support, grief counseling and support, codependency education and support, post-abortion counseling and support, total mind and body health education, support groups for families, women, and teens, free pregnancy test, friendship and emotional support groups, financial counseling, and referrals.

Men, women and children are invited to join in the 4 mile 1st Annual Walk for Women on Saturday, April 24th, 2004 – 8:00 am check in, at the Coffee Plantation Patio – SE corner of Gilbert and Baseline Roads. 100% of all proceeds from the Walk will be used to establish and operate New Turning Point Women's Center in Gilbert.
